ABOUT

DAGNASTERPUS

DAGNASTERPUS was born at 30,000 feet somewhere between Los Angeles and New Orleans, when a benevolent, funky creature—part octopus, part Poseidon, part Buddha—fell out of bandleader Tree Adams’ head in 2017. The band that emerged from the mighty DAG serves up a gritty blend of swampy grooves, deep blues, and psychedelic jams. Adams is a veteran road warrior (NYC Jamband, The Hatters) and an award-winning composer known for iconic film and TV scores including Californication, Lethal Weapon, The 100, and NCIS: New Orleans. Dagnasterpus channels cosmic funk with tentacles firmly planted in the mud.

DAGNASTERPUS features nimble horns, grimy beats and gritty vocals. Tree’s lyrics are imaginative and evocative with a hint of voodoo imagery welcoming listeners into an immersive and, at times, cinematic world of merriment and mirth. The band's self-titled debut album DAGNASTERPUS was released by Six Degrees Records on June 25, 2021.
